What is a "Trend" ?

Matthias Horx

Is a trend a process that one can measure and “prove?” Is a trend necessarily always a COUNTERTREND?

If this definition is right, then there exists in the action A word that describes the central, deep longing of our time: mindfulness. Mindfulness means to link knowledge back to competence, information to fortune, and communication to understanding. This includes: learning patience.

If one can observe people, without constantly entwining oneself- by evaluating, judging, or insulting, as is the custom in our hyper-integrated world-, one experiences the blessing of a deep global solidarity. Matthias Horx will fit this “trend” into the turmoil and trials that define our time.

Zen or the art of Economic Policiy

Prof. Dr. Peter Bofinger

Can one define ZEN? To an outside observer, it is full of mystery and question marks and even when one practices ZEN for years, not much about that changes. This topic has occupied Prof. Bofinger personally for years. For an Economic Political Scientist, this interest doesn’t necessarily seem obvious. What connects these worlds, and what the economy can perhaps learn from Zen, will be the topic of this keynote.

Workshop Session A

Corporate mindfulness

Stephan Pfingsten

Integral Theory: A world view that seeks to include in every field the largest possible number of perpectives, styles, and methodologies. Among them are spiritual insights as well as scientific thinking. Stephan Pfingsten has supported this view for years in his company, an automotive supplier based in Eisenach. In his workshop, he will dig deeper into the origin of integral training work, the preconditions for integral work in a business, and the results of this work so far.

Patricia Thielemann

Verankerte Achtsamkeit

Intelligence and Intuition

Paul Kohtes + Dr. Bardia Monshi

A cordial invitation to the marriage of intelligence and intuition. Particularly in business, one wants clarity. Projects need reason. But every practitioner knows that logic alone is often insufficient. Here you learn, from two experienced professionals out of the areas Leadership & Zen and Psychology & Mindfulness practice, how the seeming contradiction between reason and intuition can be bridged. When a field of tension transforms to synchrony, holistic action emerges. A beautiful celebration.

Zen or The Art of Self-Leadership

Christian Spieler & Dr. Alexander Poraj

As leaders, we think immediately about the duties and responsibilities we have to others. But who leads us as leaders? What is the daily foundation of our role? Which role does our self-awareness play in this? And: which effect does mindfulness unfold in the middle of quick cognitive and emotional processes? Short exercises, inputs, case studies from daily life, and mutual exchange will guide the course of the workshop.

Workshop Session C

Case Clinics - A new way to look at a challenge or question

Alfred Tolle

During this session Alfred will give a brief overview of the environmental, social and spiritual divide to understand our intention and purpose why we are here and what is our work.
In oder to initiate, facilitat or enable change, we need to generate new ways to look at challenges and questions. Case Clinics are an ideal tool to access the wisdom and experience of peers and to help a peer respond to an important and immediate leadership challenge in a better and more innovative way. We will experience this tool and discuss on how to integrate this methode in our daily life.

Mindfulness in corporate life

Christopher Tamdjidi & Paul Habbel

Mindfulness is not an end in itself, but part of a process of change. As managing director of Gutmann Aluminium, Paul Habbel is leading a transformation process to a vibrant culture of shared responsibility, appreciation, and trust. A mindfulness training was conducted for the management team as part of this process. Chris Tamdjidi and Paul Habbel discuss what role mindfulness can play in such a change, and what else is necessary.

Spiritual Activism – Be the change you want to see in the world

Christoph Harrach

In this workshop sustainability activist and yoga teacher Christoph Harrach will explain the principle of spiritual activism, supplemented with practical (yoga) exercises. In this way participants will get a new perspective on their own spiritual practice, as well as concrete tools to use this practice in service of the necessary socio-ecological transformation of society. This harmonizing of internal and external change brings more purpose and joy in life- at home as at work.

Welfare Economy

Christian Felber

Inattention in economic theory and practice has led us to confuse means and ends without being aware of it. Money and capital, the means of conducting business, have become the ends, to the detriment of the public good and all basic values. Mindful business practice, which aims for the well-being of all living things, steers toward this end consciously and measures success by its attainment.
